John worked at BT for 12 years before joining Arnold KLP, moving from telephone operator to customer services. Both roles stood him in good stead for his current role as Office Manager; giving him the experience needed to look after a 100-strong workforce as well as handle calls from clients, suppliers, contractors and staff at all times of the day and night. Joining initially as the Assistant Office Manager, he was soon promoted. His role is perhaps the most varied within the agency. One minute he is answering the phone lines in reception, the next he is collating the agency’s recycling. No two days are the same, throwing up new challenges; something John relishes.
Whether he is unblocking toilets or printer trays, handing out post or advice, he always has a smile on his face. His individual style of humour is perhaps best showcased in the agency’s unofficial Christmas newsletter. Filled with salacious gossip and irreverent tales of agency life, it always raises a smile not to mention a few eyebrows! He is equally busy outside of the agency, running up to four times a week and skiing at least once a year. He can often be glimpsed rollerblading through Hyde Park on his way into the office.
